The proxy subdomain option will automatically redirect visitors to the correct port when they access the following subdomains (example.com stands for the user’s domain name):
- cpanel.example.com redirects to the user’s cPanel interface [no need to use example.com:2082].
- webmail.example.com redirects to the user’s webmail [no need to use example.com:2095].
- whm.example.com redirects to the user’s WHM interface [no need to use example.com:2086].
- webdisk.example.com redirects to the user’s Web Disk.
You can enable this option on your server. There isn’t much security issues involved in it, unless you are using custom ports for these services. You may crosscheck/disable it via WHM >> Server Configuration >> Tweak Settings >> Domain.
You can read more about proxy subdomains in the URLhttp://docs.cpanel.net/twiki/bin/view/AllDocumentation/WHMDocs/TweakSettings
